World Championship Youth 2016 : Rules and Regulations

 

 

1. Under the auspices of the World Draughts Federation (FMJD), Turkish Draughts Federation

(TDF) will organize the World Championships Youth all categories.

 

2. The tournament will take place in

Seferihisar, İzmir – Türkiye

Arrival day is Saturday, 29th of October,

opening – on 30th of October at 12.00

closing – on 5th of November at 17.30

Departure on Sunday, 6th of November

 

3. There will be 8 separate tournaments:

3.1. Juniors Boys (U20) – boys born 1st of January 1997 or later;

3.2. Juniors Girls (U20) – girls born 1st of January 1997 or later;

3.3. Cadets Boys (U17) – boys born 1st of January 2000 or later;

3.4. Cadets Girls (U17) – girls born 1st of January 2000 or later;

3.5. Mini cadets Boys (U14) – boys born 1st of January 2003 or later;

3.6. Mini cadets Girls (U14) – players born 1st of January 2003 or later;

3.7. European Hopes Boys (U11) – boys born 1st of January 2006 or later;

3.8. European Hopes Girls (U11) – girls born 1st of January 2006 or later.

 

4. Only the members of the national federations affiliated to the FMJD can participate. The players must have the citizenship of the Federation they represent or be members of this federation according to FMJD rules. FMJD has the right to invite some players from new countries (never been members of FMJD).

 

5. There are 4 places for every national federation in each tournament. Additional places may be

given:

5.1. additional place in each tournament may be given for the organizing federation (TDF);

5.2. additional place may be given for organizing federation (or for other federation at the suggestion of organizing federation) in case of odd number of participants in some tournaments.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before October 3rd and contain the list of players in order of tournaments with FMJD-ID (if applicable), full surname and first name in Latin transcription, date of birth.

 

7. Before the beginning of the Championship (at the October 29 evening) a preliminary meeting will be held by the Main Referee who will expound the present regulations to players, directors and journalists. After the start of the first round there is a technical meeting for all coaches.

 

8. Depending on the Main Referee decision Swiss or round robin tournaments will be played. Swiss tournaments in juniors category are on rating, all other Swiss tournaments are on Solkoff median and truncated. In case of unequal number of participants in some tournaments other tournaments’ systems can be used according the Main Referee decision in consultation with the FMJD Tournament Director Youth.

 

9. Time control 80’ + 1’ per move (Fisher system).

 

10. Final places determine according FMJD rules applying to corresponding tournaments system.

Barrages should not be played. Only in case of all criteria of challengers for champion’s title will be an equal,

barrage should be played (2 games with the time control 5’ + 3” per move (Fisher system) and if champion

will not specified, then – games with time control 3’ + 2” per move till the first winning). Details will be

announced by the Main Referee after the consultations with the FMJD Tournament Director Youth.

 

11. On 1st of November the World Youth Championship Blitz will be played. There is no limit to

number of player from one federation. The time control is 5’ + 3” per move (Fisher system). Details will be announced by the Main Referee after the consultations with the FMJD Tournament Director Youth.

 

12. On 4th of November the World Youth Championship Turkish Draughts will be played. There is no limit to

number of player from one federation. Details will be announced by the Main Referee after the

consultations with the FMJD Tournament Director Youth and the section Turkish Draughts.

 

13. In any other cases – FMJD rules decide.

 

14. Prizes:

14.1. medals for the 3 first places in each tournament (including Blitz and Turkish Draughts Championships)

14.2. cups for the 3 first places in each tournament (including Blitz and Turkish Draughts Championships)

14.3. diploma for the 3 first places in each tournament (including Blitz and Turkish Draughts Championships)

 

15. Subscription fee

15.1. In case of transfer to the account of FMJD before the 10th of October: the enrolment fee amounts to 25€ per player. When paid in cash the enrolment fee will be 30€.
15.2. The enrolment fee for the World Championship Blitz and the World Championship Turkish Draughts is each time 10€ .
15.3. Inscription fees have to be paid before the beginning of the Championship.
